Personal data checks

Identity checks verify the candidate’s name, address and date of birth by cross referencing to several different databases held by credit agencies
Passport/ driving licence/ European ID card validations validate the identity documents supplied by the candidate
Credit checks detect adverse information on the candidate’s financial history by revealing bankruptcies, insolvencies, IVAs, CCJs, notices of corrections and undeclared links
Right to work checks confirm the candidate’s right to work in the UK by checking right to work documents (visa, biometric residence permit etc.) according to the UK Border Agency and Home Office guidelines
Sanction and other watch list checks search the global watch lists of sanctioning bodies, law enforcement agencies, financial regulators and ‘politically exposed persons’ (PEP) database worldwide

Criminal record checks

Basic Disclosure (formally known as a basic CRB) only discloses unspent (current) convictions, cautions, reprimands and final warnings. It is not employment specific, so anyone can apply for one e.g. individuals, employers or self-employed
Standard DBS check (formally known as a Standard CRB) only applies to certain professions such as national security, legal and accountancy. Standard DBS checks show convictions, cautions, reprimands and warnings held on the Police National Computer
Enhanced DBS check (formally known as an Enhanced CRB) only applies to positions that involve contact with vulnerable groups, including children (e.g. caring for, supervising, training or being in sole charge of children or vulnerable adults). Enhanced DBS checks show convictions, cautions, reprimands and warnings held in England and Wales on the Police National Computer and in local police records
International criminal record search reveals crimes and offences in overseas countries of residence covering the past 7 years

Employment history checks

Employment history verification confirms start and end date of an employment and position held at a company. We also ask for further information pertaining to the employability of the candidate. Confirmation of employment comes from trusted, verified referees and HR officials
Gap referencing investigates any gaps between employments which is pre defined when discussing screening requirements

Other checks

Education and professional qualification verifications check the education history and professional qualifications of the candidate, confirming the awarding body’s name, dates of attendance, level of study, course type and award. Education and membership verifications are obtained directly form the rewarding institution
Professional membership verification confirms the institution’s name, active/inactive status and start date of membership
Adverse media checks reveal any negative media appearance of the candidate that might affect your company reputation
Directorship searches detect current and previously held directorships or disqualifications
