Accessibility Statement
At Xavier, we are committed to ensuring that our digital screening platform is accessible to as many people as possible. This includes candidates and users with a range of abilities and access needs.
Our commitment
We aim to comply with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities and user-friendly for everyone.
Current accessibility status
Xavier is partially compliant with WCAG 2.1 level AA. While the platform meets many of the criteria — such as:
-
Consistent structure and navigation
-
Keyboard-only functionality
-
Adequate text contrast
-
Clear headings and labels
-
Descriptive link text
There are some areas where improvements are planned. These include better screen reader support and simplifying interactions for users who may struggle with complex form layouts.
Planned improvements
We are currently developing a new version of Xavier, due for release in the next year, that will be designed AI-first. This version will:
-
Replace the majority of traditional front-end interactions with plain language prompts via ChatGPT
-
Allow both candidates and administrators to complete tasks through a conversational, accessible interface
-
Reduce the cognitive load and navigation complexity for all users, especially those with learning disabilities or limited digital literacy
Reporting problems
If you encounter any accessibility issues while using Xavier, or have suggestions for improvement, please contact our support team.
We aim to respond to all accessibility-related requests within 5 working days.
Non-accessible content
We are aware that the following elements may currently not meet full WCAG 2.1 AA compliance:
-
Some older user interface components may not have full ARIA labelling
-
Error messages and form field validation may not always be screen-reader friendly
These issues are being reviewed and corrected as part of our development roadmap.
What we're doing to improve accessibility
-
Accessibility testing is being included in our QA processes
-
Internal training is being rolled out for our developers and designers
-
A formal accessibility audit will be considered alongside the AI-first rebuild
