Women said to drive rise in fraud.

According to figures from the CIFAS fraud prevention service, employee fraud increased by more than two-thirds during the first half of the year, with fraud committed by female employees accounting for the bulk of the rise. Nick Berry, head of financial crime technology at Deloitte, said that the greater involvement of women and the total rise in fraud might reflect people's increasing willingness to resort to "desperate measures and desperate means" during times of economic troubles.
